Stage 4b. Detailed Design & Technical/Construction Drawings

In tandem with Stage 4a, construction details are prepared; these illustrate how important or non-standard details are to be built.

These drawings are concerned with aesthetic, finishing and unusual details such as the roof edges, box gutters, timber cladding, green roofs, large dormers, timber structures, special window details and thresholds.

This also includes other additional drawings – window and doors schedule, indicative electrical layout, kitchen layout and any other drawings needed to smooth work on site.

If the design includes any elements that are other than absolutely standard (or the contractor is unfamiliar with the materials or technique), these additional drawings help the contractor build on site easily and ensure a higher level of quality and crisper finish.

Included in Stage 4b:

  • Architectural drawings to illustrate key details where further information may be needed โ€“ eaves/ridges/abutments.
  • Where applicable: Kitchen Plan, Indicative Electrical Layout, Window and Door Schedule.

Exciting progress on a home renovation and home extension project, soon to be captured in all its glory!

This whole house makeover has recently been completed, leaving our clients snug and warm with new insulation and upgrades throughout. While we eagerly await the professional photographs (especially of that stunning open-plan kitchen and dining space!), we wanted to share this glimpse.

The renovated layout includes more equally sized bedrooms (no more squabbles!) and a fabulous master suite featuring a walk-through dressing area, a large en-suite, and Juliette balcony with beautiful woodland views.

It`s wonderful to see the homeowners settling back in, adding their personal finishes and making this much-altered but cherished house their own again.

We`re thrilled to have helped them remodel and extend their home for long-term enjoyment.

It`s Floorplan Friday!

This week I was at a beautiful Victorian terrace in Bath, chatting with some potential clients about their hopes for extending and reconfiguring their space. It got me thinking about the incredible versatility of these period homes.

Before we even consider a home extension, it`s so important to explore how the existing layout can be improved. You`d be surprised how much difference thoughtful alterations can make! Here are a few different floorplan solutions from various Victorian terrace renovation projects I`ve worked on over the years. Notice how each one is unique, designed specifically for the homeowner and their needs.

Which of these layouts resonates most with you?
What would be your priorities when renovating a Victorian terrace? Let me know in the comments! ๐Ÿ‘‡
